The heat is on

It has been so hot and humid here the last week, I've been hibernating in the house under the air conditioning. Poor Sophie has to be tricked to go out to do her business and sometimes I have to trick her.

June OPAM's

My eye surgery had put me behind in my projects but I think I'm ready to get back into the game. Here are the 2 projects that I finished for June the sunflower table runner took me longer to do than the Stars and stripes but considering what I was working against I think I did pretty well.

I'm still running behind on my projects

All this eye stuff have put me behind in the projects I'm committed to, I have to start the April table runner, but I did finally get the May one cut out and will be sewing today, and then the June runner has showed up in my email on Tuesday so I'm hoping that by the end of June to have the May and June project finishes and I'll just work the April one in as I have time.

I'm finally back

I'm back after a 6 week absent, Some know the story but some of you don't so I'll fill you all in.
I noticed things looking cloudy so went to the eye Dr. and was sent to a retina specialist and there was a fold of skin blocking my vision so I had surgery to remove the extra skin and a vitrectomy was done. The first month I wasn't able to change the channel on the tv or even dial the phone, I'm still not able to drive as there is still a area that is blank at certain positions. Quiltin or sewing is hard since the ruler is wavey and accuracy is not there so I do a few cuts at a time. That is what I've been up to lately. Hopefully things will get more normal but a video I saw at the Dr. office said it could take up to 6 months.

my 4 legged children

My picture is  of my dog Sophie on the left  and my Dad's dog Baby on the right. This was taken on a visit to my Dads and they both love the blanket we carry for Sophie to sleep on  and we laid it on the couch and they tried to fix it so they both could lay on it and not have to look at each other. They get along but they think they are each TOP DOG and sometimes they have little spats hence not looking at each other.

This was a  drearie gray Saturday but my sister-in=law was here and we all went out to lunch for my mother-in-laws birthday and afterward I went to Joann's for a button for a bag I just finished that was part of my UFO/OPAM projects. I alos found a smaller shape cutter ruler I was looking for and also a walking foot for my machine hotefully it will make my fabric now crawl when sewing.

My Rainbow

Your rainbow is strongly shaded blue.

What is says about you: You are a tranquil person. You appreciate friends who get along with one another. You share hobbies with friends and like trying to fit into their routines.

Find the colors of your rainbow at spacefem.com.

When I started my blog I had no idea what to call it so decided to name it after my favorite color but I liked alot of variations of blue so that is why it's called shades of blue and this quiz just proved to me that I'm a blue person

Maria Peagler's Color of the Month

I'm patiently waiting for Maria to post the Feburary Color of the Month and to see which pattern she designed for it.
Here is a picture of the January pattern and color which is black and white, mine is black and cream but it looks more like and brown in the picture, really it looks alot better in person. I still have to quilt it and that I will work on inbetween this month.

Typelyzer

Check yours out!
I just came upon this in another blog and it analyzes you blog and this is what it says about mine:

The entertaining and friendly type. They are especially attuned to pleasure and beauty and like to fill their surroundings with soft fabrics, bright colors and sweet smells. They live in the present moment and don´t like to plan ahead - they are always in risk of exhausting themselves.

The enjoy work that makes them able to help other people in a concrete and visible way. They tend to avoid conflicts and rarely initiate confrontation - qualities that can make it hard for them in management positions.

A learning project

I've been working right along on my UFO's and OPAM and today while reading my lists of blogs, a friend posted a new learning project that teaches how to choose colors for your projects. I've been pondering it all afternoon and finally gave in because in my mind that was cheaper than taking a class at the quilt shop. Thanks Sheila for the nudge.

Oops just found some new UFO's

I just found some more UFO's that I didn't remember I had but no problem. I finished the January project early so this will just fill in the time till I can start the Feburary one. We got another 5 inches of snow last night so I should be able to get alot done since I don't like driving on snow packed ice! Sorry I keep changing my backgrounds but I haven't found one I like yet.

January UFO finished

I was so excided today I got my sweater out to put it together and now it is all finished. Put the problem is I don't like the way it fits, it was suppose to be "A-line" but it isn't at all, I'm just so unhappy with it but I was only suppose to finish it not like it right? Maybe it will grow on me but right now I'm ready to rip it out and make something else.

UFO project

Hopefully hubby will get to return to work tomorrow, winter break is over and I'm ready to have my days back to what I want. I'm ready to start on putting my sweater together, it's been over a year since I got all the parts knitted but was trying too hard to get it together so I just put it away. I joined a group that has you work and complete a unfinished project and this is the number on my list that was chosen.
