The baby on the left was born the last of May 2011 and the one on the right was born the end of June 2011. They are my first great-grand sons not by the same mothers but sisters.

September FNSI
This is what I worked on for FNSI, my picture isn't very good and it doesn't show the details which is good and bad so you can't see how bad I am at applique. This is I second attempt at applique and it is better than the first. I was hoping tp get the border on but the directions were wrong and I cut it as the directions said so now to get more cut out.

Practicing free flow quilting
I joined a few scraps and she is giving step by step directions on how to do free flow quilting from the very beginning, these are the most complete directions that I've seen and I've checked out quite a few. Today we started stitching on the practice pad and I have to say I didn't do to bad, not perfect but deffenting now horrid. There is need for improvement but I'm not perfect I had the most trouble with the loops but they got better towards the end.

Friday night sew-in
I did my sewing but didn't take a picture because I was going to do it in the morning before we went to my Dads, guess what we had a storm and lost power. I'll post my picture when we get home Sunday. This is my FNSI it is hard to see but I have finished the vase and the pineapple on the left. I have 2 more squares to go so I might be at this awhile. This is my first time doing hand applique.

Slow month for me
I finally finished the July table runner that Maria Peagler designed for the Color of the Month program she has going on. It was a easy pattern and I had it sut out and sewn together and ready to quilt in a week but it took me forever to finish and I can only blame the hot weather we are having, I just don't have any energy. I can hardly wait for fall to arrive this year.

June OPAM's
My eye surgery had put me behind in my projects but I think I'm ready to get back into the game. Here are the 2 projects that I finished for June the sunflower table runner took me longer to do than the Stars and stripes but considering what I was working against I think I did pretty well.

I'm still running behind on my projects
All this eye stuff have put me behind in the projects I'm committed to, I have to start the April table runner, but I did finally get the May one cut out and will be sewing today, and then the June runner has showed up in my email on Tuesday so I'm hoping that by the end of June to have the May and June project finishes and I'll just work the April one in as I have time.

I'm finally back
I'm back after a 6 week absent, Some know the story but some of you don't so I'll fill you all in.
I noticed things looking cloudy so went to the eye Dr. and was sent to a retina specialist and there was a fold of skin blocking my vision so I had surgery to remove the extra skin and a vitrectomy was done. The first month I wasn't able to change the channel on the tv or even dial the phone, I'm still not able to drive as there is still a area that is blank at certain positions. Quiltin or sewing is hard since the ruler is wavey and accuracy is not there so I do a few cuts at a time. That is what I've been up to lately. Hopefully things will get more normal but a video I saw at the Dr. office said it could take up to 6 months.

my 4 legged children
My picture is of my dog Sophie on the left and my Dad's dog Baby on the right. This was taken on a visit to my Dads and they both love the blanket we carry for Sophie to sleep on and we laid it on the couch and they tried to fix it so they both could lay on it and not have to look at each other. They get along but they think they are each TOP DOG and sometimes they have little spats hence not looking at each other.

Rainy Saturday
This was a drearie gray Saturday but my sister-in=law was here and we all went out to lunch for my mother-in-laws birthday and afterward I went to Joann's for a button for a bag I just finished that was part of my UFO/OPAM projects. I alos found a smaller shape cutter ruler I was looking for and also a walking foot for my machine hotefully it will make my fabric now crawl when sewing.

cold, snowy, sleety Sunday
Today was cold, and snowy/sleety day and so I tried to get some projects done but it has been such a drab week-end it was hard to get started. I finally got my sons fleece pants cut out but probably won't get the sewed together till tomorrow and then I have to put the backing on my January table runner from Maria's Color course and that I'll do tomorrow also after the pants are done. I'll post pictures of my UFO'sand OPAM soon. I would like to see the sun shine but I'm not holding my breath.......Spring where are you!!!
